In 1981 Gaston Glock designed his first firearm which was submitted to the Austrian Army. This pistol won the contract and was designated the Pistole 80. When exported commercially, Glock released them as the G17. Only available for 2 years before the Gen2 model was released, there are not many in circulation. In 2017, Lipsey's started working with Glock to resurrect the old design in the modern world. After 3 years in 2020, the P80 Classic Edition was released to the public. This reproduction is as close to the original Pistole 80 as can be, due to environmental regulations some processes have been changed. The P80 Classic Edition comes with a commemorative box along with the original "tupperware" container and a certificate of authenticity from Glock.
